Thank you for giving your child (or yourself) the gift of music education: a skill that will last a lifetime. Together, we can make lessons a positive learning experience.
To keep the lesson time free from as many distractions as possible, we have compiled a list of studio policies. Your agreement and adherence to these policies are essential to the success of your student and our studio.
- Students/parents/guardians agree not to directly or indirectly solicit their instructor for lessons and agree that doing so would constitute a breach of this agreement. Instructors are prohibited from conducting lessons and/or other services for students outside of Note-worthy Experiences.
- Our studio remains open during inclement weather. Attendance is at the discretion of the student/parent/teacher during severe weather advisories. Please be sure to have a clear/lit walkway available. Lessons may be conducted online as an alternative.
- All students should have a working and in-tune instrument, bench, music stand, and metronome (an application is acceptable) in a non-distracting environment. Students may use keyboards as a temporary beginner instrument. Please also provide a sturdy chair/stool/bench for your instructor during lessons.
- Students should practice a minimum of 5 times a week to meet their goals. Students may always brush up on previous assignments at home. Lesson consistency, as well as practice consistency, is essential.
- Your instructor and Renee are available to assist in setting up solid practice habits, goal-setting, and resolving challenges.
- For everyone’s health, all students are asked to wash or sanitize their hands before lessons.
- In the event of illness, notify our studio and your instructor so that arrangements for an online or makeup lesson can be made.
- A 24-hour notice is required for all missed lessons. Missed lessons are not refundable and will not be credited. Students may opt to have a lesson online. If a lesson is scheduled and the teacher arrives, payment is expected. The studio director, Renee, and the office manager, Marie, should be included in all communication regarding missed and canceled lessons.
- Tuition is due monthly. Our office will send an invoice at the beginning of each month for all lessons that took place in the month prior. A $15 late fee will be assessed for tuition that is more than 30 days past due. Lessons will be suspended if tuition is more than 60 days past due. Students may not register for events, recitals, or competitions if tuition is more than 30 days past due.
- Payment should be sent directly to our studio via check (made payable to Note-worthy Experiences Music Studio, and sent to 75 Witherell Drive, Sudbury), Zelle (to rbordner@note-worthyexperiences.com), or your financial institution’s online payment service. Venmo may also be used by sending a friend request to Renee-Bordner. For our instructors to focus on your student and their individualized lesson plans, please send all payments directly to our studio.
- Students who wish to take an extended break (4 weeks or more) from lessons will not be guaranteed a lesson time upon their return. Students who wish to pay for the remainder of lessons missed will have their spot held on their behalf. Students must give a 2-week notice to our studio before taking a leave of absence.
- Participation in recitals, competitions, and festivals is highly encouraged to provide your student with a well-rounded musical experience.
- Conferences are available upon request to discuss the student’s progress, goals, and expectations.
- Students who have lessons at home and are under the age of 18 must have a parent, guardian, or competent childcare provider in the house during the lessons.
- Students under the age of 18 should not communicate directly with their instructor via text, email, or social media. A parent or guardian must be included in the group text or email messages.
- Students should remain clothed during the entire lesson time, whether it is online or in-person, with the instructor.
- The instructor will end the lesson if a student expresses any inappropriate actions or gestures.
- Notify our studio and your instructor if you have any pets, including pocket pets.
- Students’ photographs may be taken from time to time and posted on our blog, website, and social media, with their consent.
