Teaching Philosophy
“I believe in the unique potential of each one of my students. Regardless of natural talent or ability, I will do my best to nurture and usher my students into realizing their full capabilities. Music is important to the world - it serves as a form of self-expression and a unifying art. We owe it to those who pursue music to allow them to grow and evolve at their own pace. I try to be a helpful guide for those who want to develop their relationships with music however they see fit.”
Biography
Sanghee Kim received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and Music Education from Busan National University in South Korea, where she won numerous competitions. She first came to the United States in 1993 and earned her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Boston Conservatory. Returning to Korea, she continued to devote herself to music by performing in solo and chamber recitals, as a member of an opera company, and as a pianist at Busan Catholic University. In 1997, Sanghee returned to the United States to continue her piano studies with David Deveau. In 2003, she received a Graduate Performance Diploma (GPD) in Piano and Collaborative Piano from the Longy School of Music, where she studied with Sally Pinkas and Brian Moll. After graduating from the Longy School of Music, Sanghee began teaching piano. She regularly performs chamber music and is also active as a church musician.
Sanghee began teaching in 1990 and joined Note-worthy Experiences in December 2023, where she teaches English and Korean lessons.
