Teaching Philosophy
“In my experience, music is a journey of both expression and discovery. It is my goal to help students discover their path, and be able to express it. Through an exploration of theoretical and performance skills, I aim to cultivate confidence, knowledge, and (above all) a love for music.”
Biography
Andru was born in 2001 in Texas and didn’t make their way to Massachusetts until leaving to study at Berklee College of Music. During his childhood, Andru studied several musical disciplines, ranging from Electric Bass to Trombone, although their early focus was on voice.
From 2020 to 2024, Andru attended Berklee College of Music, achieving a dual degree in both Vocal Performance and Composition. During his time there, Andru studied a variety of styles, ranging from classical to Jazz, Musical Theater, and Pop.
During this time, Andru also began his career as a gigging musician with the band HeadFirst, and presently with The Forest for the Fire. They have performed all over the Boston area and beyond.
Andru earned a Master’s Degree in Composition at Longy School of Music in the hopes of one day being a college music teacher (and/or world-famous touring musician)!
Andru began teaching in 2018 and joined Note-worthy Experiences in August 2025.
