It comes down to three important character qualities:

- Depth
Elite schools want to see a student who has stayed with something long enough to get genuinely good at it.
Someone who has real stories to tell. Who can walk into an interview and speak with conviction about something they’ve actually lived?
Many students struggle with that part. Not because they haven’t worked hard, but because being “busy” isn’t the same as going deep.
